About Me

by Jason

My name is Jason Rowsey and I write to you from a suburb outside of Columbus, Ohio called Westerville. I have a quite varied background. I am currently a Spanish educator in a local high school and a local community college. My interest in politics began as a boy in high school.

My first volunteer experience for a political campaign was for the unsuccessful second term of President George Herbert Walker Bush in 1992. Disappointed with the outcome, I did not give up on this growing interest. I attended Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. There I received a Bachelor’s of Art in both Political Science and Spanish. I studied abroad extensively in Mexico as a college student. In fact, the majority of my undergraduate Spanish coursework took place there.

In 2000, I graduated from Ohio University with a Master’s of Art in Spanish. I worked for a couple of years before deciding to return to school to complete courses to obtain licensure to teach Spanish in the state of Ohio. I’ve never given up on politics and I am back with this new form of expressing my thoughts via RowseyBlog.
