As a person who worries about the welfare of others, I believe that health care reform is of the utmost importance. There are far too many people in our country that do not have the means to seek basic health care. That is wrong, and in my point, immoral. In a country like ours, every person should be afforded the opportunity to seek basic health care and preventative care. Why not allow a woman to find out early through an inexpensive mammogram that they have a tumor rather than waiting and being forced to go through a mastectomy, or even face death?
I am not, however, ready to jump on board of the health care plan created by the House and Senate leadership. Candidate Obama promised that a health care bill would be crafted under the scrutiny of the American people. This was to be attained with the help of C-SPAN. As we all know, this has unfortunately been an extremely secretive process. This is very unfortunate. This is a topic on which there should be agreement between the parties. The democrats should not try to pass this bill with a party line vote and do exactly what they blamed the republicans of … ignoring the minority.
