So the AP has written an interesting article titled Netanyahu mystery trip sets off flap in Israel.  No matter what you think of peace in the Middle East, or the chances of it ever happening, I think it is fairly safe to say that Israel often gets a bum wrap in dinosaur media.  This line from the article particularly caught my attention:

In security-obsessed Israel, keeping sensitive matters under wraps on the grounds of national security has long been accepted by the media, which abide by military censorship rules that force them to sit on security-related news.

Security-obssessed Israel, huh?  Think there might be a reason for that?

Yahoo: I hate your new webpage

by Jason on September 10, 2009

Have you tried the horrible new yahoo webpage?  It is extremely annoying.  On the side of the page, there are all of these hot spots in the menu and if you happen to accidentally move your little cursor on that side, watch out because some huge menu flies up in your face.  The “my favorites” menu is the worst I’ve seen in quite a while.  I will be switching to the google.

According to the Associated Press, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger is going to close domestic violence shelters to help bring California back into the black.

Schwarzenegger eliminated the program’s $20.4 million budget when he used his line-item authority to veto nearly $500 million in the revised budget passed by the Legislature. Lawmakers had voted to maintain the program but cut its budget by 20 percent, to $16.3 million.

I’ve got a better idea governator…try bringing some of your out of control spending back in-line and leave funding for important things like refuges for women and children to escape brutality.  There have to be better options and you obviously need better priorities.

City of Cleveland
Image via Wikipedia

First I will say that I really like Cleveland.  I think it is the best “big city” in Ohio.  It is far better in my opinion than Columbus for a whole host of reasons.  But when I read this article from Forbes Magazine, I was a little shocked.  Their subheading:

Sinking property values, high unemployment and prices, and poor environments add to the pressure felt by residents in these metros.

I’ll stick to my opinion that Cleveland is a great city.
