Someone really needs to send a memo to John McCain that the election is over and that he lost it. I’m so tired of the main stream media asking him what he thinks about all of Obama’s policies and his ideas for the future.
I read an article titled “McCain supoorts Palin for president…sort of.” Really? Sort of? WHO CARES WHO YOU SUPPORT! Go away. We are sick of hearing from you.
Not only that annoyed me in the article, but this didn’t help.
Palin, 44, and McCain, 72, ran on the same Republican ticket against Democrat Obama in the November 4 election, but many observers felt that the photogenic governor’s faux pas and perceived lack of experience in national politics contributed to McCain’s loss.
A former beauty pageant contestant in Alaska, Palin is the first female governor of the northern state and the Republican Party’s first female vice-presidential nominee.
Ok so the attack on Palin continues. I really wish some feminists out there would get their acts together and point out the blatant sexism in this article and others. “A former beauty pageant contestant?” Try looking at her record you idiots.
John McCain lost the election because he was a bad candidate. It had nothing to do with this “conservatism”, which he is not, and certainly has very little to do with Sarah Palin. She excited the conservative base which was never a fan of John McCain.

I received the following email from Brian Rothenberg, the executive director of Progress Ohio and thought that it was interesting.
OSU President Gordon Gee is talking out of both sides of his mouth.
While serving as co-chairman of a newly formed partnership of public research universities pushing to reduce the nation’s reliance on foreign oil and develop renewable energy, he is being paid nearly $200,000 a year for serving on the board of Massey Energy, a coal company with one of the nation’s worst environmental records
Massey Energy’s shameful record:
- behind one of the single worst environmental disasters in the region’s history, according to the EPA.
- biggest Dept. of Justice settlement in the coal industry’s history, for safety violations which led to a deadly mine disaster.
- largest fine in EPA history for violations of the Clean Water Act.
In a news story which ran nationwide this week, ProgressOhio called on Gordon Gee to sever his ties with Massey.
Tell Gordon Gee it’s time to put his money where his mouth is and resign from the board of Massey Energy.
He is not just a college administrator – he is the public face of our state’s largest university and a newly named leader in the renewable energy and green jobs movement.

Now I admit that I find this very interesting because I am from “coal country” in West Virginia and am familiar with Massey Energy. I also believe that we should continue to mine coal and to look to technology for methods of burning it more cleanly.
Its very easy for people who don’t depend on this industry to talk about how bad it is and that we should stop mining it. But, these are the only jobs in many areas of West Virginia, Ohio, and Kentucky. What do you say to the family that can no longer afford to feed their children because you were successful at crippling their sector of the economy?
Do you find it bothersome that Gordon Gee sits on this board? I don’t.

This come from the truly inhumane file.
Human trafficking has always been a topic that has interested me simply because I cannot fathom how some in this world have no qualms about hurting others. I’ve always been interested in psychology and it makes me wonder if something is really wrong with these types of people or if they are just truly evil. I guess we probably will never know the answer to questions like that.
The Dispatch has an interesting article that states:
Human trafficking occurs when victims, often children or teenagers, are exploited sexually or used as forced laborers. Traffickers use a variety of means to compel their victims, including physical violence, threatening family members or taking control of the victims’ money or immigration documents.
Some hotspots for potential trafficking are obvious: street prostitution, massage parlors, strip clubs, escort services and online services such as craigslist, Warren said. Others are hidden on farms and migrant-worker camps, in retail businesses and private homes.
Again…what is wrong with some people? But this is what really shocked me…
The FBI considers northwestern Ohio one of the “top recruiting locations” in the U.S. for underage prostitution. A recent series of FBI raids freed 45 people who had been trafficked; 18 were from Ohio.
So maybe my question might get posed more like, what is wrong people in Ohio?

Well I have been very sporadic with my posting lately. I have to appologize. It hasn’t been on purpose. So much has been going on. We finished up a quarter on in college and that is always a stressful time. Now we are on spring break for the week, but I am teaching a new course next quarter so I am going to be busy planning it.
On the personal front, my wife had ACL and miniscus repair surgery today. She did outstanding, but we have been busy with that as well. I promise to be more regular in my posting….starting tonight!
