The Columbus Dispatch has an interesting article in their paper today analyzing the voting patterns of various districts in the state of Ohio, dealing specifically with Cuyahoga and Franklin counties. It tells us that Obama scored big in Cuyahoga County and ran up the numbers with the poor and African-American population.
In general, the analysis suggests that an Obama voter in the two counties is likely to be black, more likely to fall under the federal poverty level than voters countywide, and less likely to have education beyond a bachelor’s degree
Surprised? You shouldn’t be. Those are democrat leaning voters already.
In the 184 Franklin County precincts where at least 95 percent of the voting-age population is white, for example, Obama garnered 48 percent of the vote, data show.
The Dispatch seems surprised by this. I’m not sure why. Race isn’t playing a factor here, party seems to be.
