The Sucking Sounds Continues In Ohio
July 8, 2008
Remember when Ross Perot warned of the sucking sound of jobs heading from the United States to south of the border? Well, the sucking sound now is jobs flooding out of Ohio. According to NBC4, Cardinal Health Care, located in Dublin, Ohio, announced that it will restructure and will cut 600 jobs.
This seems to be more evidence of the lousy economy for which we can thank both the republicans and democrats. When will either party decide to step up and help out the citizens of this country that are hurting from gas prices, home foreclosures, and the increase of products and goods that are necessary to survive?

Only 90 of the jobs will be in Dublin according to the report.
Perot was right about this stuff - it’s all about jobs. That’s why I voted for him.
Our competitiveness as a state and as a nation has nothing to do with education - it’s all about labor rates. Chinese factor workers aren’t better educated. Many of those who come in from the western rural areas are illiterate. In fact, they aren’t even granted full citizenship. But they work hard and they work cheap, and we let them build a huge fraction of everything we use.
And if you dig down into the education funding debate, it’s not so much about what gets taught and how as it is securing the income and benefits of teachers, administrators and staff.
As private industry leaves, there are fewer and fewer of us underwriting the cost of government, which primarily means the compensation and benefits of government workers, including school employees.
School district after school district is coming to grips with this reality. It doesn’t matter whether we fund schools with property taxes, sales taxes, or state income taxes. It all comes from the same pockets.
It’s gonna get ugly…
Paul - I remember that election well and how irritated Perot made me because I thought he would cost Bush the election. Oh well…no need to reminisce.
The problem is not so much the economy as it is people still buying items from another country. Check out my post today which is more or less a response to you
Thanks
