Clinton Wins West Virginia By a Landslide!
May 13, 2008
To hear the news over the last several weeks, you’d think this election were over. The mindless pundits of the main stream media continue to bombard us with the message that election is over and Clinton is just causing problems staying in the race. Well, I guess the voters of my great state, WV, haven’t heard the message.
No matter what the media is reporting (I really have a hard time watching anymore), this election is not over. Hundreds of thousands of people continue to go to the polls to let the democratic party know that not all of us are happy with Obama. He does not represent the ideals and values that we all share.
One would think that you might see stories telling us that the Obama camp is worried because he keeps losing state after state. Even though the numbers might work out for him mathematically, doesn’t the democratic party worry that its candidate is consistently losing and tonight by 37% at the time of this post?
What will the new narrative out of the Obama campaign now be? West Virginians are uneducated and racist? I’ve heard that tired song before. As a displaced West Virginian, I am very proud that my state ignored the relentless stories in the media for Clinton’s exit of this race and chose to exercise their right to vote. Those of you that will be quick to say WV doesn’t matter…the democrats need that state to win just as they do Ohio and Pennsylvania.
Our party finds itself in a quandary. A large portion of us support Clinton and will not be pleased to vote for Obama. Many could end up sitting this election out. I know it makes me angry every time I hear one of the party bosses on TV tell Clinton to give up. Be careful. You are shooting yourselves in the foot.
Its on to Kentucky!

Exposed Prejudices in the State Highway Patrol
May 13, 2008
I really hadn’t given this story the attention that it deserved when it initially occurred. According to the Columbus Dispatch, two state highway patrol officers were suspended, and later fired, for a “klan prank.”
A patrol investigation found that Franklin put a white cone on his head and donned a white mask and white cloth the day before Martin Luther King Day. Wlodarsky took a photo that he forwarded on his cell phone.
I can already hear that many will say that it was just a joke, or that the punishment does not fit the crime. Is it not their constitutional right of free speech or some other right to act or say moronic, offensive, or even hateful things? Perhaps.
But when in Ohio are we going to get serious about our elected officials and other entities that represent the government (i.e. highway patrol) behaving in a way that is fitting of their job and the public trust that they hold? We recently finally moved beyond a corrupt governor who should probably be serving time, we have a corrupt (to say the least) attorney general who now refuses to resign, and this is just the tip of the iceberg.
Driving around predominately “white neighborhoods’ in central Ohio, it always amazes me to notice who the cops are pulling over. I’ve not done any type of formal study, but suffice it to say, it seems like there are a lot of African Americans getting pulled over and I doubt that is due to coincidence.
Relief For Myranmar
May 13, 2008
How long must the world sit and watch as tens of thousands of people starve to death after the deadly cyclone in Myranmar? We have all seen the video and pictures of the dead floating in water and scattered throughout the countryside.
In my opinion it is time to leave the military junta behind. Why can’t the countries of the world at the very least take supplies on boats and drop them off on their shores? It might be impractical but must a whole country suffer because of the whims of its tyrants?
